Create Glitch Sounds Using Audacity's Raw Data Import

Hey guys,

If you are interested in creating your own glitchy sounds to throw into numerology, I have found using Audacity's raw data import to work pretty well. It's free and the possibilities are infinite. Just import any type of file into audacity and hear what comes out of it. I just started doing this and I have come up with some really interesting sounds. Of course some file types produce better results than others.

WARNING- turn your volume down at first because most sounds are very harsh

here's a list of file types that produce some cool results:

Reaktor instrument files- .ens
Ableton sample analysis files- .asd
Numerology project files- .nmp
Adobe Audition Peak Data files- .pkf

It would be awesome to start a list of file types that produce interesting sounds, so if anyone has done this before or starts to experiment with raw data sound generation, list the file types that you achieved good results with.

Since the raw data won't necessarily create anything cyclic, it would be interesting to see what types of files, formats and sub-formats might create something recognizably different for the usually floor-to-ceiling hash I always get when I try importing a file (even audio) using that function.
