The problem is that Live doesn't support direct MIDI output from AU (in contrast to VST).
So it cant be handled with automatic delay compensation.

It seems to me that the latency in Logic is not consistent, i.e. different values at different runs.
On the other hand, Ableton Live works well with 50ms latency adjustment.

Ok, I found out that audio output must be connected to enable syncing. So I've tested it and can confirm that Numerology AU works well in Bidule. Of course, MIDI output is not received on the plugins...

Bidule has a 'Sync Transport' object, and it's possible to sync VST plugins to it.
But for some reason this doesn't seem to work with AU plugins.

I can confirm that it works well for me in Live 8 and Logic 8.
In particular, recording midi output seems to be quite accurate.
Results from quick test: Live (jitter <1ms), Logic (jitter <5ms).

Seems strange, but a negative delay of the Num tracks is also possible.
It has exactly the same effect as a positive delay of the non-Num tracks.
The delay parameter just refers to relative time...

For example, I get accurate timing at offset of 35ms.
Using Numerology ports or IAC makes no difference.
And it behaves constantly...

It's interesting that 'noatikl' from intermorphic works very well as AU plugin sending MIDI out over IAC. When recording the generated notes in Logic there is latency/jitter of only 2-3 msecs....

I think Apple has a big problem with MIDI output of AU because Logic is not designed for handling it. The basic problem is that tracks in Logic don't have an input port selector for receiving MIDI...
