As a start, I would simply try raising your buffers and lowering your sample rate (if it's set above 44.1k.) This will at least spare some CPU cycles and it might get rid of the dropouts.

You will need to see the Num MIDI Out in Live's preference panel in order to mark it as remote. Didnt know that you couldnt do that with the VST.

It's not only helpful but ParamMod - <Target> Stack Output - 'Next Preset Num' is one of my favorite cv targets. Best results: turn auto-reset 'off' and quantization to 'none' on the target stack.
