Default Vector Seq Firmware 1.0.16

This is a pretty big update, both in terms of fixes, and the new Dashboard. Be sure to read the release notes for all the details. Really this should be version 1.1, but there are a few more tweaks I'm looking at before calling it that.

Vector Sequencer Firmware Update Instructions

• Download and un-zip the Vector firmware file (
• Press and hold the Shift button while powering up the Vector to enter USB Disk mode.
• Use a USB ‘A to B’ cable to connect the Vector to your computer. After a few seconds,
the SD Card for the Vector will show up as a new disk.
• Unzip On a Mac, the Finder may do that for you. Do not double-click on VECTOR.BIN,
which the Finder will try to de-compress into something not useful.
• Make sure the filename is exactly VECTOR.BIN, and copy it to the root directory of Vector’s SD Card – Delete
or move any previous VECTOR.BIN firmware files.
• Now is also a good time to backup your Vector's PROJECT directory.
• Unmount/Eject the Vector’s SD Card from your computer, and power off your eurorack system.
• Hold down the Rec button on the Vector while powering up your system.
• Press Next to load the new Firmware, which takes about 20 seconds.
• Verify the Firmware is the correct version in Globals -- first page, 2nd OLED, top-right corner.

Dashboard : To enter the Dashboard, go to the Part page, then either turn Encode 9 clockwise,
or use the 'Prev' or 'Next' buttons. This change means that an essential shortcut
( Part + white button on the mini-keyboard ), which can be used to quickly switch
between parts, always works correctly, even when you are already in Part mode.

Presets : All sequencers (main and sub-seqs) now reset on preset changes.

Sub Seqs: Fixed a bug where the first step would be at the wrong rate

Main & Sub Seqs: Fixed a bug for both 'ALT' (alternating) modes whereby after a restart,
the sequence may run backwards before running forwards.

USB A Port (USB Host) : Tweaked USB thread priority to improve output timing.

SD Card: Fixed an issue that could cause a lockup after a long time between saves.

Part Reformat : Fixed an issue where reformatting a Part could leave that part with
corrupted data.

- Sub-Seqs : Fixed an issue where sub-seq rate wouldn't be correct after a preset change.
- Display Sleep : bumped up the timer to 120 sec before screen sleep.
- Routing : fixed a rare UI bug that could cause a lockup.

Dashboard : This is a new edit page that allows you to adjust a single parameter
across all 8 parts. To get to this page, press the Part button 2 times, or from
the regular Part page, press Next. There are 11 pages (one for each parameter),
you can use Encoder 9 to scroll between parameters, or, for quick access, use
the white keys on the mini-keyboard. The first 8 parameters are from the Seq
Control page, the last 3 scale gate length, velocity and chance probability.

Display Sleep : After 1 minute of UI inactivity, the displays will go dark,
this is to avoid burn-in after long (*very* long) periods of showing the same thing.
Press any key or turn any knob to wake them up -- the shift key is great as it avoids
changing anything. This feature has no effect on outputs -- the sequencer will continue
to run.

StuckNotes: Fixed a bug that would frequently trigger stuck notes when stopping the transport.

Chance : The 3 chance submodes now work like they used to: Type first, then Probability, then Bar.

Shift Twist: Is now implemented for several new param edits for quickly moving through values:

- SeqCtl: Start & Length : doubles & halves.

- Globals: Tempo : doubles & halves.

- Gloabls, Routing : Run, Clock, Reset and (for Expander) all Trigger modes:
Increments to 'useful' locations within an otherwise long list.

- Filenames, Preset Names & Part Names:
Increments by vowels, then to 0 (digits) then '+' (symbols) then ' ' (space)

UI Misc: Fixed a bug where edit mode labels for Scene, Part and Dashboard would be drawn in
grey text if the current part is muted.

Pitch CV: Fixed a bug where if you don't have an Expander module, pitch values
on parts 3-8 could affect the output of Pitch CV 2.

Note Display: Fixed a bug where notes for some scales (D-flat minor) were displayed with sharps
instead of flats.

Clear Preset : now resets Velocity and Timing Variance settings.

Removed a couple more harmless error messages.
