I've been running DP 9 on a macbook pro that has an i7 and 16GB RAM. It runs fine.

However, I've not really pushed into the limits of high track counts and lots of sample libraries running. I use Kontakt, but don't have the rest of the NI suite of VIs.

There was a time when people would always advise: "Get as much RAM as you can afford. You won't regret it." And I think the idea was that you would "future-proof" your computer. I suppose that's still true.
