Default f12 namm twitter

For those of you that are interested, I'll be twittering a bit enroute and while at NAMM. Other than meeting folks and checking out stuff, I'll be using free time here and there to setup a mapping for the Launchpad to the DrumSeq. "Flying Days" are always a good time to explore new features that can be implemented in small, incremental steps.

Sweet! Multiple Launch Pads (2 to get 16 notes) sequencing with distinct velocities for each pad color could be nice.

It's pretty ridiculous here:

- Four mac laptops sharing a network hub
- One computer w/ Numerology rewired into ProTools
- Midi Clock transmission from that computer to three others via ethernet
- Live w/ the MonoNoteAU on one
- A Numerology 3 beta w/ OSC control over a MonoNote via Touch OSC on my iPhone
- Another Numerology build running a very, very rough Lauchpad control protocol for the DrumSeq -- I wrote it on the flight over.

I'll post picts & video later...

Jim

cool - glad to see you're working on this

really looking forward for a useable launchpad integration - just a few thoughts about possible features:
up to 64 step patterns by linking vertical rows (8 steps only row1, 16 steps row 1+2 ....) then use buttons on the right to go to different drumnotes (bd, snare,hihat....)

different modes for drums, mono/polysequencer

configurable velocity by using different colors:
green: velocity setting 1
orange: vel. setting 2
red: vel. setting 3

Looks great Jim.

I'm really interested to see what you could with for the Launchpad for the other sequencers. I've just watched a video of Novation's Max for Live step sequencer, and the workflow looks really good.

The idea of being able to do that with Numerology's more comprehensive sequencers is really appealing.

Hey, another interesting remote controller: the APC20: http://www.akaipro.com/apc20
Looks like the APC40 now officially is a flop for being too big and expensive.

I really like my APC, maybe more than any other controller (ok tied w X-Station).

It's less than a monome and is great in the studio. I also got a Launchpad, and it will be great for firing clips on the go or for non-ableton applications (N3!), but not as great as a Live studio controller.

Just got home from NAMM last night. Later today I'll go through my camera to look for some good picts & more video. The OSC demo is pretty straightforward: I mapped some faders and buttons in TouchOSC to sliders and buttons in the MonoNote.

Based on the feedback & interest, I plan to 'fastrack' support for the Launchpad, though I still have to balance that time with other tasks.

On the APC front, there is a good chance I'll be able to get my hands on a loaner unit at some point. It's a great controller, but the limited-size grid (only 8 x 5) will make it a bit tricky to map it to things other than preset triggers.

Cheers,
Jim
