Default Help controlling Logic instruments with the environment.

This might be a Logic issue. Trying to to rule out Numerology too.

I'm trying to control Sculpture. I monitored what moving the tension mod slider does in the environment, F 2 62. I setup a fader on channel 2 and set it to 62, I set the input to "control", channel 1, 50, and to filter other, look at a monitor, it's all good.

I make a CC gen in Numerology, attach a LFO, set the CC-gen to send out CC50 on channel 1, send it to MIDI out. Back in Logic, I attach a monitor to Numerology out 1 in the environment, it checks out. I wire the monitor to the fader, then another monitor, still looks good. Then I wire that to "Input Notes" in the environment.

Problem is, it's controlling another part of Sculpture, that supposedly sends out F2 65 (timbre). If I set my fader to send 36 it works to control tension mod as expected. I'm not sure if it's a mistake I'm making or not.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a Logic project that I can take a look at?

I can't help much with the Sculpture bit, but one tip I've found helps with Logic is to use IAC busses instead of Numerology's virtual outputs -- Logic tends to "forget" them when reloading the project...

Cheers,
Jim

Found the issue, for Sculputure you need to "Learn Message" on each control.

I was having an issue where another knob was being automated from the setup I had in Numerology 3 as an AU.

So the setup that I talked about here
http://five12.net/showthread.php?t=1759#7
Doesn't work in Sculpture quite the same way, you need an extra step and that's the "Learn Message".

Plus I cabled to Sculpture directly as well, not to "Input Notes".

When you "Learn Message", also to make sure to learn each CC on it's own.
So "Mute" from Numerlogy the 2nd CC then press "Learn Message" for 1st CC, move the fader on Sculpture you want to learn, then press play so Numerology sends the CC you want to attach too. You should at that point see your fader moving in Sculpture. Press stop on Logic.

Next, "Mute" the 1st CC and "Un-Mute" the 2nd CC and learn the 2nd CC with the same steps you just did on the 1st CC.

I just tried it and everything works now.
