Talking autoloading Numerology

Hi all,

Not sure if this is place for it but... here goes.

Can anyone help me work out a script that automatically loads Numerology?

This is my current setup:

To explain:

So that's a Gator case holding a Nord Modular G1, MOTU Ultralite, KorgAm8000R, Acer W510, LaunchpadS with additional Macbook Air 2013, iStudio with iPad2.
Two channels out from the G1 go clean into the MOTU with the other two outs going through the Korg. Numerology is controlled by the Launchpad and runs MIDI to the 4 G1 slots. The tablet is used to run the Nord editor for patching. Sends are also controlled in numerology with a channel going out to the iStudio where i'm running to record and manipulate loops.

With this setup I don't need to look at the Macbook screen at all. I can do everything with the Launchpad... which leads me back to my original question... does anyone have any experience setting up a headless Mac Mini to run Numerology?

I was thinking I could pick up an old one and stick it inside the case.

Thanks in advance.

Auto-start is pretty straightforward: If you go into System Preferences / Accounts, and pick your account, you can add Numerology as a "Login Item". Then it will be started each time you login or restart the computer.

As for running headless, I haven't tried that yet. One thing to look into is using Apple Remote Desktop w/ a VNC client on the iPad -- that would allow you to control the Mac in case something goes wrong.

Cheers,
Jim

Is there a way to start "Play" from the Launchpad?
That could be a killer Seems I need to hit "SPACE"
I've worked out the autobooting and numerology naturally loads the last session - so that is all good. As for if something goes wrong - one issue i've had is getting an adhoc session to automatically start so that I can VNC into it.

Nice setup!

It's simple to start/stop Numerology with the launchpad. Hold the "mixer" button and press the uppermost playbutton on the right side.

Have you tried printing out the stickers made for Numerology launchpad control? Find them here: http://www.five12.net/showthread.php?t=761

I haven't found the right sticky paper but I did find some sticky labels to write my own out... it does make it easier to use.

Thanks for your advice.
