Default Mavericks

I tried to search for Mavericks but no hits: so, what's the deal? Are there any quirks with Mavericks or should I upgrade?

Cheers,

K

I haven't had any problems yet. No gigs on the horizon so thought i'd give it a go. My MacMini is a noticeably smoother machine with it on so i'm confident my Macbook should be good... will let y'all know if anything crops up.

Weird. Are you running Logic 9 32 or 64 bit?

I'll be updating to Mavericks shortly, just have to make sure I've got everything in order...

not sure why people are updating already?????

there is zero reason to update and no benefit for audio people and so far lot's of complaints from many users who've updated.

most things seem to work ok but there are a bunch of issues w/plug in authorizations and mavericks moving various files to different places and upsetting things a bit.. all more or less typical w/an OS update to a new version.

but.. i guess it being free to upgrade means more people are willing to be early adopters. i'd still be on 10.6.8 if logicX didn't require 10.8.x

lot's of info here for developers who solved one or two problems...

I have to agree with that, why upgrading so fast and not waiting a bit.
This is a bad move, I still on 10.7 and no problem so far.
Well that's not really true as I lost all of my power PC application that where and will not be updated to Intel/Universal.

Those lost where not significant but annoying enough to decide not upgrading this machine anymore, new one will be use for the next update.
Apple is not good on back compatibility, and move stuff inside your HD without warning.

Correct...

Possibly permissions have changed (again) on the /ApplicationSupport dirs -- you'll notice that most apps are moving everything to ~/Music.

You might try re-installing the ReWire driver -- such as by deleting it, then installing Live 8. Then test Live 8 ReWire w/ N3...
