It's not essential for me. The IAC Buss approach is fine.

My guess is either a conflict between N4 and something left over from N3, or possibly and older ReWire driver, etc.

Jim,

we have talked about this in email before, I still (until today that is) had this problem through all the updates. Everytime I installed the N4 rewire driver, logic X would crash on startup, disabling the rewire driver, (or core audio) would allow me to open logic, of course, I wouldn't have rewire. I decided to take a look at the console crash reports, which I frankly have no reason to understand, and kep seeing something that didn't make any sense. references to Default Folder X. I have been using Default Folder X for several years, fully up to date. but it makes no sense to be in an audio crash log. I disabled it, reinstalled N4 rewire driver, opened logic, SUCCESS.

So, I can't offer anything more than that, but I will email the crash report, perhaps you and the default folder x guys can figure out a solution... if not, at least i know how to get around it. Yeah!

Very interesting (and usual) -- do send the crash report -- or just use 'contact five12' to report a bug, that will send it along....
