Default "Detach from Timeline" in Rewire slave mode

Is there a way to make Numerology run in sync with the host DAW but not follow song position, while acting as a Rewire slave? The idea here is that you get the ease of setup of Rewire, but instead of locking to the DAW transport, it just BPM syncs and locks to the latest bar, acting essentially like MIDI clock sync.

Renoise has this feature, and I find it incredibly useful for doing live jamming while recording my output ... it also comes in handy when you are using the Rewire slave app for only a part of a work-in-progress. It would be awesome if Numerology could do something similar! I can imagine it being particularly good when using stacks of preset chains. (It's handy that Numerology has a timeline, but I find myself seldom using it in practice ... it seems like less of a native idiom than the presets, if that makes sense.)

Here are some links to the Renoise forums where the feature is initially requested, and another with responses to beta testing. They might give some extra context and/or explore issues I'm not thinking of here :

PS ...this is the second time I've submitted this thread, so hopefully it doesn't show up as a duplicate. I'm new to the forum, so I'm not sure what is considered a reasonable delay before trying again.
